IDF is bringing together the global dairy community to focus on “Sheep, Goat and other non-Cow milk” in Brussels, Belgium. The Symposium will be wide-ranging covering different aspects of the production and utilisation of milk from small ruminants, camelids, buffalo, equidae etc. Authors of production-related abstracts can choose to publish their research article or minireview in a Special issue of JDR. Utilisation-related research can be submitted (separately) to International Dairy Journal
Sheep, goats and other non-cow milk producing animals are widely distributed throughout the world. They contribute to sustainable livelihoods through support of the economy, rural and peri-urban livelihoods, the empowerment of women, and food security. The purpose of the Symposium is to present the latest scientific advances about milk originating from other ruminants than cows on the fields of human nutrition and science and technology, as well as advances on animal health. The conference is an opportunity to inform stakeholders (governments, IGOs, academia, production, processing, consumers and civil society) of the latest developments in dairy products, animal health, and sustainability originating from those animals. The Symposium will be a platform for exchange of knowledge and information among international experts in the field. More information and registration details are available on the IDF/FIL website

Next Generation Dairying Workshops
Ninety years after the Hannah Research Institute opened, the first Next Generation Dairying research Workshop was held in 2018. It was considered a great success, and so a second Workshop was held in 2019, with the theme of Local and Global Consumers.
Funded by the Hannah Dairy Research Foundation, the Workshops aim to stimulate dairy-related research in Scotland.
The Proceedings of the Workshops are available to read and download Open Access
