Important Information: please readApplication for Membership of the JDR Editorial Board is welcomed from researchers with relevant experience and expertise who are already registered as JDR users. The Application will be considered by the Executive Editorial Team and successful applicants will be notified within two to four weeks.
The Editorial Board Members are responsible for delivering the Peer Review process in a rapid, efficient and effective way. Members are selected for their expertise in an area of science relevant to the Journal's remit, based on a proven track record of research contribution. They are appointed by the Executive Editorial Team for a minimum of one year and a maximum term of three years, renewable for a second term of three years. There is no specific limit to the size of the Editorial Board, which is designed to ensure a full coverage of the Journal's research interests and global presence.
Please read the description of the Peer Review Process before you apply for membership.
Most communication will be by email or online. We also ask for a phone number in case we need to phone you. The Profiling questions will enable us to identify appropriate manuscripts to allocate to you for Peer Review. This will speed up the evaluation process.
You must answer all questions. If you cannot find an appropriate answer, choose the best option and add a comment to us (use the comments box at the end of the form). Note that the Primary Profile and Secondary Profile options are the same. JDR's remit may be considered as a food chain extending from the nutrition of the dairy animal (feed) through whole-animal physiology to the biology of the mammary gland and then its product (milk), dairy foods generated from that product and finally to the consumer of dairy products. If you are unsure, choose the earliest relevant stage of the food chain as primary and the later stage as secondary (eg effects of feed on milk composition should be entered as primary "feed" and secondary "milk") Unless we already have your cv, you must submit a short cv, including brief details of your current employment, education, training, publications and editorial experience.
We ask that you also submit a photograph and a short paragraph that briefly describes your area of expertise. This optional information will be uploaded to the Editorial Board page of the website. Please only supply additional information if it is essential to the process of considering your application
