New Hybrid Review Process information:
The Recommendation Assessment now includes an additional option:
Thank you for guiding this manuscript through Peer Review. A Recommendation Assessment will be requested after the Referee's reports are received and again after Authors revisions are received (if required). The Assessments are based on those reports and revisions. Please conduct each Assessment as quickly as possible, preferably within one or two days from receipt.
A Recommendation Assessment will also be requested if a manuscript has not received Peer Review reports within a reasonable time frame. The Recommendation Assessment decision has four main options:
In addition, you have the option to refer the manuscript to the Editor, and the Editorial Office may ask you to recommend opening the manuscript to Community Peer Review If you choose to recommend Acceptance then you should also indicate if the manuscript has exceptional merit and is worthy of special promotion/marketing If you choose revision and wish to add your own suggestions for revision to those of the referees, you may do that in the guidance for authors box. You can upload your own file if you wish. Completion of Peer Review will often require two or three Recommendation assessments alternating between Authors and Referees (first two options). The final two options are only chosen when the manuscript is ready for a Final Decision from the Editor. Peer Review should be effective but also as rapid as possible. If the Authors revisions and explanations have clearly answered the Referee's criticisms effectively, the paper need not be returned to the Referee. Please always remember: Journal of Dairy Research is a high quality international journal, and only publishes good research. Please remember to press the submit button when you have finished your Assessment. You will then see a "Thank you" screen. If you do not see this, the submission has failed, probably because you have not filled in all of the compulsory fields. Find the error and correct it, then press submit again. What happens now? When you submit your assessment, the Editorial Office will perform the action that you have recommended and will update the manuscript's webpage. |
