If you have ever been frustrated at the time it took to Peer Review your article, please consider these statistics:

More than 60% of the referees that we approach either decline or do not respond at all
Of those that decline, more than 70% cite too little time as the reason

You can still help us, and help the authors of the manuscript:

In the "decline" form you have the option to suggest a colleague as an alternative referee. You are also welcome to recommend experienced and competent PhD students as well as postdocs
Also in the decline form you have the option to provide a "Suitability Opinion": a quick novelty- and impact-based assessment of the manuscript without considering the scientific quality in detail (note that full Peer Review will always be part of any final decision)
